It’s impossible for the evening show host not to pay attention to this detail at a House select committee hearing on Jan. 6.
The committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021 U.S. Capitol riot revealed that Donald Trump falsely declared victory on the night of the 2020 election on the advice of his drunken personal lawyer, even though the votes were still being counted, Jimmy — Kimmel’s team quickly provided a compilation on Monday.
“President Trump rejected the advice of his campaign experts on election night and instead followed the line suggested by the visibly drunk Rudy Giuliani, only to claim he won and insist that the count be stopped, falsely claiming that everything was Fraud,” committee co-chair Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) said in Monday’s lawsuit.
Following Cheney’s comments, former Trump aide Jason Miller gave video testimony that Giuliani was “definitely drunk” when they talked that night.
“Everyone pretty much told Trump he lost, but he didn’t want to hear that. What he wanted to hear was what Rudy Giuliani told him,” Kimmel said. “And how did Trump know that Giuliani was drunk? I mean, is this a drunk guy in your opinion?”
